Tawa affiliates to Te Whanau A Apanui (East Coast Tribe of NZ). Tawa’s childhood memories are of extended family time in Te Kaha at the family beach with her Nanny Harry. This place is fondly named the Paripari – or Cliffs. Synonymous with these visits/memories are running over the sharp rocks characteristic of this place, and the gathering, cooking and eating of the Pupu (Sea Snail).
Our Pupu Ring is inspired by the shape of the Pupu, the delicious morsel! A tribute to childhood and family! As always our pieces are inspired by our heritage, and connection to Aotearoa NZ, and designed to be funky, fabulous – and get attention!

How is it made?

We handcraft each and every Too Luscious taonga (treasured piece). The original Pupu Design Ring was created by us. We then hand-make our own moulds, mix, colour and pour the resin by hand, then hand finish and polish each piece. Moulds have a very limited life, so all our jewellery is made in limited numbers. Time, care, effort and a little piece of us goes into every piece, which makes each one special. They are also made with care for the environment, so you can feel good knowing you chose a product that is good to the earth.
