The Story of the Toki

A Toki Poutangata historically, is a ceremonial adze worked from Pounamu (Greenstone) and usually lashed to a finely carved handle. It was invariably carried by a person of mana or high rank with great leadership qualities.

The head of the adze symbolises a leaders ability to clear the way, and provide clear spaces for those around them to develop and ultimately reach their full potential. Perfect to acknowledge a person with big dreams!
