The Story of the Large Toki


A Toki Poutangata historically, is a ceremonial adze worked from Pounamu (Greenstone) and usually lashed to a finely carved handle. It was invariably carried by a person of mana or high rank with great leadership qualities.

Here at Too Luscious we have taken this ancient ancient object, and transformed it into a piece of adornment with a contemporary twist! We have used the head of the adze as a pendant to symbolise leadership, and of course pride in your identity and who you are!

The head of the adze symbolises a leaders ability to clear the way, and provide clear spaces for those around them to develop and ultimately reach their full potential. There is a lot of responsibility that goes with the wearing of this magnificent piece.
