The original bracelet was worn by Tawa on her wedding day - so is a very very personal and special piece of jewellery. For TWO years we've held out and not made any despite the many requests!! But we've decided not to be so selfish and share it with those of you who really love it!!

The significance of the tiki is explained below....

Hine Te Iwaiwa (the Maori deity for childbirth) was gifted the first ever Hei Tiki (Hei Tiki is simply tiki worn as a necklace), by her father Tane. The Hei Tiki went on to become one of the most prized and precious forms of adornment. It was believed that it absorbed the mana (power and prestige) of the person who wore it and was handed down from generation to generation, a powerful and potent symbol of genealogy and future generations to come.

Hei Tiki has in recent times become a symbol of cultural and national identity, which we think is faaaabulous!

How Do We Make It?
We handcraft each and every Too Luscious Hei Tiki. We create the originals, hand-make our own moulds, mix, colour and pour the resin by hand, then hand finish and polish each piece.
